What new Rules & Procedures have you put in place regarding Covid-19?
1. Arrival Procedures
a. We have put in place systems and procedures to ensure, as far as possible, that your stay with us is safe from the effects of Covid-19. To that end we urge you to engage with our precautions, in particular social distancing and hygiene arrangements. These should apply both within the park and when moving around the local area. Please note 1 person maximum is allowed in the shop/Reception area.
b. Please do not travel to York Meadows if anyone in your party has any of the publicised symptoms of Covid-19 or has been in contact with someone who was tested positive.
c. To minimise contact time on arrival electronic payment of the balance must be made prior to arrival.
d. In 2020 the UK Government introduced an NHS QR code system within England & Wales. The system allows individuals to download a Government App and then scan a code within hospitality venues, to “check in” to the venue. This is entirely voluntary, and whilst not a requirement for customers to “check in”, York Meadows, and other campsites or holiday parks, are legally bound to display the NHS QR Code posters at its campsites. We feel strongly that containing outbreaks at an early stage and reducing the ability for the COVID virus to spread is ultimately beneficial to us all and are asking our customers to support the use of the new system.
2. Park Rules
a. Some communal facilities have restrictions on occupancy. These are displayed at entrances.
b. Our normal high standards of hygiene in shower/laundry blocks will be enhanced and we encourage you to additionally use the cleaning materials provided before and after use. Dispose of used items in the bins provided.
c. To be extra safe bring soap, hand gel, gloves, toilet roll, disinfectant hand sanitiser for personal use.
d. Do not gather in social groups or invite visitors to the site.
e. Maintain social distancing when moving around the park and between adjacent pitches particularly when using side awnings.
f. Do not allow children to roam unsupervised around the park to ensure compliance with the social distancing rule at all times.
g. Deliveries of take-away food or supermarket deliveries can only be made at the park entrance.
h. Our outdoor play areas are open but parents are responsible for supervising their children. Normal hygiene routines should be followed i.e. sanitising hands on entry and exit from the play area and hand sanitisers will be provided. Our indoor play area is currently closed.
i. Please use the contact numbers posted on the Shop/Reception door if any member of your party develops Covid-19 related symptoms.
j. Face covering must be worn in all indoor public areas. These include the shop, laundry and toilet / shower blocks.
k. Children aged 11 or over must wear a face covering in all indoor public areas.
l. No pitches are allowed to mix or socialise. It is one household only to a pitch and only a max of 6 people to a pitch.
m. Please note we will not be accepting day visitors.
3. Deposit / Refund Policy
a. A deposit of £25.00 on advanced bookings (£50.00 for a full week booking or bank holiday) is required.
Cancellation due to Covid restrictions: Your deposit will be refundable or transferable, within the 2021 season, should we have to close York Meadows due to government guidelines.
Cancellation by you: Your deposit will be non-refundable or transferable should you cancel your booking.
How much deposit do we need to pay on making our booking?
This will depend on the time of season you have booked for. £25 for a general booking. £50 for a Bank Holiday booking and weekly, and this is per unit, not per group. It is non refundable or transferable in the event of cancellation, but will contribute towards the total cost of your holiday. We’re unable to accept credit cards over the phone, or in person.
How can we pay for our stay?
As a result of the Corona Virus to minimise contact time on arrival electronic payment (debit card only) of the balance will be made. We’re unable to accept credit cards.
How much is Wi-Fi and how does it work?
Once on site, use your device to search for Wi-Fi. Then connect to the strongest ‘I-Nova’ signal. This will then ask you set up an account. You can then pay with a debit card or through PayPal for 100meg – £2.00, 250meg – £ 5.00, 500 meg – £7.00, 1 gigabyte – £10.00. This will then work on 2 devices. If you do not use all the data in one stay, if you come back in two weeks, you can log in and continue to use the remaining units until you have used them all.
Is there car parking space next to the pitches?
Yes, with each pitch there is one car parking space, any additional cars will need to be left at late arrivals, the other side of the barrier.
Are the pitches hard standing?
Not all of our plots are hard standing, and we are unable to ensure you get a hard standing if you request one, however we will do out best.
Do all the pitches have electric?
All touring pitches do, tents can be either with or with out electric. Tents please specify when booking. If electric is required, please make sure you have the correct equipment to plug into the electrics. You’ll need a special tent electric connection, not a house hold extension. This will have trip switches on.
Are there any Holiday Homes for hire?
No, the holiday homes are to buy.
Are there any play areas on site?
Yes, there’s an outdoor play area with giant outdoor games, as well as a football field. The outdoor play area closes at 10pm or dusk whichever is first.
Parents are responsible for supervising their children. Normal hygiene routines should be followed i.e. sanitising hands on entry and exit from the play area and hand sanitisers will be provided.
Are we allowed water pistols?
Our water supply is metered so please use sensibly e.g. no water pistols, water bombs or paddling pools.
Is there disabled access?
Yes there is disabled access and a disabled bathroom.
What security do you have in place?
We have wardens living on the site. The barrier will only let you in and out of the site if we have your car registration, (works on number plate recognition), and there is CCTV in place.
What time can we arrive?
Arrival time is any time after 1pm.
What time do we have to depart?
We ask that you depart your pitch by 12 noon. However in our quieter times, if you wish to leave later you can pay £2.00 and stay until 4pm as long as your pitch isn’t needed and you have arranged this with the staff in reception.
Does the site accept dogs?
Yes we allow dogs as long as they are not a dangerous breed. They must be kept on a lead at all times and must not be left unattended at any point. It’s a maximum of 2 dogs per unit unless otherwise agreed with the park owners. Dogs must not foul public areas and owners must clear up after their pets at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the play areas.
What is the maximum number of persons per pitch?
Maximum of 6 persons per unit, unless otherwise agreed prior to your stay with the park owners.
Are gazebos allowed on site?
We do not allow gazebos on site.
Is there a minimum number of nights stay?
There is at Bank Holidays and high season, where the minimum number of nights stay will vary; please contact us to find out.
Are we allowed to bring 2 cars?
Yes, but the second car must be parked outside of the barrier at late arrivals. Please also be aware there is an additional charge.
Are we allowed BBQs on our pitches?
Yes, we allow BBQs, but they must be lifted off the ground so they do not burn the grass. Burning charcoal only, NO wood and NO open fires.
Are there any age restrictions?
While there are no age restrictions the site is better suited for young families, and the older generation.
What are your rules on general behaviour?
We are a family friendly park and so we ask that your behaviour should not be noisy or disruptive, especially at night time. We do not tolerate offensive or illegal behaviour and we may ask you or your party to leave immediately if your conduct is considered inappropriate. No refunds or compensation will be given in these circumstances.
What are your rules regarding bikes, scooters and recreational vehicles?
Motorised or battery operated recreational vehicles cannot be used on the park. These include scooters, bikes and children’s ride-ons. Parents must ensure that bikes and scooters are ridden in a courteous and responsible manner and supervised by a responsible adult. Please ensure that bicycles are parked sensibly and do not cause an obstruction to other guests or vehicles.
