You’ll find country walks and trails starting from York Meadows, with family-friendly walks and long distance routes, including Ebor Way, Centenary Way and Wolds Way.

Other facilities nearby include pony trekking over the moors, gliding at Sutton Bank and mountain biking at Dalby Forest.

There are golf greens surrounding the park such as Sandburn Hall, which offers other activities also, York Golf Club, Fulford Golf Club, Easingwold Golf Club and Ampleforth Golf Club.

Fishing is also a popular sport and can be done locally at Pottery Pond, Birkdale Farm, and Brickyard Farm Lakes.


Shopping & Entertainment

On the outskirts of York you have Vanguard & Monks Cross Shopping Centre, The Designer Outlet and Clifton Moor, which offers more shopping and family entertainment.

Clifton Moor is home to a cinema, plus a bowling, laser combat and American pool complex, as well as restaurants, takeaways and pubs.

In York city centre there are numerous cinemas, theatres and pubs offering live music.
